These SCHMETZ ELx705 Serger / Overlock Needles are specially designed for compatible sergers and overlock machines that require the ELx705 needle system. ELx705 is not compatible with every serger, so always check your machine's instruction manual before purchasing.
The ELx705 features a reinforced blade for the demands of high-speed serging. Unlike a standard home sewing machine needle, it has two grooves – one on the front and one on the back – which are needed to create specialty serger stitches.
Its slightly rounded point makes this needle suitable for use with a variety of woven and knit fabrics.
What Machines Use ELx705 Needles?
The ELx705 needle system is used by various serger, overlock and coverlock machines. However, compatibility is determined by the specific machine model, not simply by the brand of the machine.
Before ordering, check your machine's owner's manual and look for ELx705 in the recommended needle specifications. If your machine specifies ELx705, these needles are the correct needle system.
Do not use ELx705 needles in a regular home sewing machine unless the machine manufacturer specifically recommends this needle system.
