The minky fabric is so incredibly soft when you hold the pieces up to your cheek, and the printed pattern made the whole assembly surprisingly straightforward. I love that the Essex linen body and floral cotton pieces give it a quality feel you don't often get in a kit.

I finally got around to cutting out the pieces and was impressed that the printed pattern includes actual seam allowances, saving me a step. The Robert Kaufman Essex linen has a nice, sturdy feel that should hold up well after washing.
