Finally found a brick-colored open end zipper that matches my jacket perfectly, and the #5 molded plastic teeth feel sturdy without being stiff. Installing it was straightforward, and it separates cleanly every time.

The plastic teeth glide smoothly and the open-end design makes it easy to align when I'm sewing it into a jacket. It's noticeably lighter than the metal zippers I've used before, which is a nice perk.
