This lightweight technical nylon fabric features a crisp, paper-like hand with a smooth matte surface, with a distinct waxed-canvas appearance and a water-repellent coating.

It holds shape beautifully, creating sharp folds and sculptural volume, while remaining flexible enough for garments and accessories.

The surface shows subtle texture and natural-looking creases, giving it a utilitarian, workwear-inspired character. Unlike true waxed canvas, this fabric remains lightweight, flexible, and low-maintenance, making it ideal for contemporary outerwear and accessories.

The fabric has a distinctly dry, technical feel, similar to nylon taffeta or coated nylon commonly used in contemporary rainwear and fashion-forward outerwear. Its structured quality makes it ideal for designs that emphasize form, volume, and architectural silhouettes.

Designed for structure rather than drape, it holds shape well and creates sharp folds, volume, and clean lines.

Best Uses

  • Raincoats & lightweight rain jackets

  • Windbreakers, anoraks & technical outerwear

  • Utility pants, cargo styles & oversized silhouettes

  • Bucket hats, caps & structured accessories

  • Bags, totes, backpacks & pouches

  • Experimental fashion, sculptural garments

This fabric excels in designs that benefit from structure, crisp folds, gathers, and sharp seam lines rather than soft drape.

Evelyn B. ★★★★★

This nylon is lighter than I expected for how strong it feels, and the waterproof test with a splash of water beaded right off. The waxed canvas look is convincing enough that I had to double-check the tag. Perfect for a rain jacket project.

Owen ★★★★★

Finally a fabric that actually feels like waxed canvas but weighs almost nothing. I made a rain cover for my backpack and water beads right off it, plus the 148 cm width gave me plenty to work with.

Emma ★★★★★

Cut a small patch to test the seam sealant on it, and the water just beads right off without soaking in at all. The 148 cm width is generous for making a couple of tote bags, and the nylon has a nice crisp, slightly waxy handfeel that mimics canvas better than I expected.
