This nylon ripstop fabric is a Canada Goose deadstock material originally developed for technical accessories and utility applications.

At 178 gsm, this fabric has a crisp, structured hand with a slightly crinkled texture typical of durable technical nylon. The ripstop construction improves tear resistance while keeping the fabric relatively lightweight and strong.

Uncoated and breathable, this material is ideal for accessories, bags, and equipment, while also suitable for lightweight outerwear projects.

The soft sheen technical surface and olive tone give this fabric a functional, outdoor-ready aesthetic.

As with all deadstock fabrics, quantities are limited.

How to sew Ripstop: The fabric comes with minor challenges, but easily overcome them with a few tricks:

• Use sharp scissors or a rotary fabric cutter to reduce fraying of the nylon. Nylon tends to fray when cut to size for your project.
• Keep the fabric tight by pulling the fabric on both sides of the needle instead of trying to pull the fabric through.
• Never pin ripstop nylon. Consider using double sided tape versus straight pins to keep your fabric from slipping as you sew or a glue stick. 
• Don’t be afraid to burn your edges or seams for a sturdy seal. Always exercise extreme caution when attempting this technique.
• Practice your stitch! Zigzag stitches help keep your seams from breaking when a stretch to the fabric occurs.

Care instructions: Your Ripstop or Technical garment can be machine washed to a maximum of 40˚C however, we recommend a 30˚C wash with short spin or drip dry. You can also gently hand wash your item; rinse thoroughly and then drip dry on the washing line.
