Fabric Description

This lightweight merino wool jersey was originally produced for Canada Goose and is designed for next-to-skin comfort and breathable layering garments.

The fabric features a smooth single jersey construction with a fluid drape and excellent stretch, making it ideal for creating winter base layers, T-shirts, tanks, and lightweight tops. Its high elasticity ensures comfort and freedom of movement while maintaining a clean, close-to-the-body fit.

Made from fine New Zealand merino wool, this jersey offers exceptional softness, breathability, and natural temperature regulation. Merino wool is known for its moisture-wicking properties, helping to keep the body warm in cool conditions and comfortable year-round.

This jersey pairs perfectly with our Merino Wool Jersey Rib, which is intentionally produced at a heavier weight to provide structure, stretch recovery, and durability for neckbands, cuffs, and hems, allowing you to sew coordinated, professional-quality garments.

Evelyn V. ★★★★★

Picked up a yard of this black merino jersey, and the 220% stretch makes it incredibly comfortable for close-fitting layers. The 110 gsm weight is light but feels substantial enough for a base top. It's my new favorite fabric to work with.

Victoria B. ★★★★★

This 95% merino with just enough spandex gives the perfect amount of stretch without losing shape. I love how lightweight the 110 gsm feels layered under a jacket, and the black color is deep. Exactly what I wanted for a breathable base layer.

Owen F. ★★★★★

I needed a lightweight merino with some give and this black jersey with 220% stretch fits the bill perfectly—drapes nicely for sewing tops. Have to say the 110 gsm weight is airy enough for layering but not see-through.
