Due to its softness and hypoallergenic properties, silk bourrette is suitable for making comfortable garments. 
With this fabric you can sew blouses and shirts, dresses and skirts, scarves and shawls, loungewear, accessories, home decor and more. 

Silk bourette is a type of fabric or yarn made from the remnants of silkworm cocoons after the longest silk threads have been unwound. 
Unlike classic silk, which is smooth and shiny, silk bourette silk has a coarser texture and a matte appearance. 
It is valued for its softness, warmth, and breathability, making it an ideal material for lightweight and comfortable clothing.

Care instructions: Hand wash in lukewarm water using a mild detergent specifically formulated for delicate fabrics or silk. Avoid using bleach or harsh chemicals. If using a machine, choose a delicate or silk cycle with cold water. Place the fabric in a mesh laundry bag to protect it.

Air dry, avoid tumble drying, as the heat can damage the fabric. If ironing is necessary, use a low-temperature setting specifically for silk. Iron the fabric while it's still slightly damp, or use a pressing cloth to protect it.

We recommend that you pre-wash your fabric the way you are going to wash your finished garment.
